I take issues with bios. I think they are the most judgmental paragraph one can write about oneself. A desperate attempt to show everyone you matter. Musicians, politicians, artists, academia, writers, and poets carefully write their bios so that they can prove to everyone that they are damn good. Listen to my songs, vote for me, buy my art, come to my lecture, read my article, and memorize my poems. Let your work speak for itself, why do you have to sell it with a paragraph you so proudly wrote about your own greatness.
In this distorted world that I live in, I have to write resumes, curriculum vitae, cover letters, and biographical information for everything. I have to keep selling myself on a piece of paper, or else I’ll be jobless. So fucked up….
