اعتصاب

کارگران حمل و نقل عمومی شهر تورانتو از امروز در اعتصاب اند. ديشب ساعت دوازده شب که رفتند به اعتصاب دوستم مريم خانم که خير سرش نه سوار اتوبوس می شود و نه با مترو سر کار می رود شاکی شده بود که بابا مردم بدبخت می شوند، اينها که خوب پول می گيرند! گفتنم بهک، اگر برای اين اعتصاب ها نبود نه راننده اتوبوس ها خوب پول می گرفتند نه جنابعالی!
مسائل پيرامون اين اعتصاب را اينجا بخوانيد و اگر وقتش را داريد از تجمع های اعتراض آميز کارگران در مقابل ايستگاه های اصلی مترو حمايت کنيد و به آنها بپيونديد.

چند وقت پيش دوستی از هاروارد خبر فرستاده بود که پليس هارواد شاخه اطلاعاتی راه انداخته است و دانشجوهای فعال سياسی را مورد تحقيقات مخفی قرار می دهند، رفتار های آنها را تحت کنترل دارند و از آنها در تجمع ها و تظاهرت ها عکس می گيرند. ايميل را که برای يک دوستم فرستادم خبر داد که کجا نشسته اي که پليس دانشگاه خودمان (تورانتو) هم افتاده است دنبال دانشجو های فعال اوضاع خيلی بی ريخت است و الان کلی وکيل گرفته اند که ماجرا را دنبال کند! اين دوست بنده خودش بنده خدا چند وقت پيش برای اعتراض به خشونت پليس به يک جوان بی خانمان بومی (همان سرخ پوست قديمی که اينجا مدام مورد خشونت نژادی قرار می گيرند) دستگير شد و خودش مورد خشونت مافيای پليسی قرار گرفت.

حالا همان دوست ايميل زده که آن دانشجوهايی که پليس دانشگاه عملاً همه زندگی شان را کنترل می کرده است، از جانب دانشگاه مورد پيگرد قانونی قرار گرفته اند. این دانشجو ها که من يکی دو تاشان را خيلی خوب می شناسم، از فعالين حقوق دانشجوی اند و
مساله بالابردن شهريه ها مساله اصلی شان است. هر سال دانشگاه ها و مخصوصاً دانشگاه مزخرف ما شهريه های دانشجويی را بالا می برند و اين وحشتناک ترين جنايتی است که اين ارگان های کاپيتاليستی توليد انبوه دانش در حق آدم هايی که به دليل نداشتن پول حق تحصيلات دانشگاهی را از دست می دهند، می کنند. . با پول وام دولتی (چه وامی همه اش را بايد پس داد) اينجا نه می شود زندگی کرد و نه می شود درس خواند و با اينکه سالهاست وام استاندارد دانشجويی تغيير نکرده، شهريه ها هر سال بالاتر و بالاتر می رود.

اين آدم های که به دليل فعاليت های سياسی اجتماعی شان يا از دانشگاه اخراج می شوند و يا اينکه وضعيت کار دانشگاهی و آکادميک شان تحت تاثير قرار می گيرد آدم های فداکاری اند که از آخرين بازمانده های آدم های با وجدان اند. آن وقت سيستم پليسی توليد دانش انبوه که به هر شکلی می خواهد آدم ها را کنترل کند، حالا شروط آزادی موفقت اين دانشجو ها تجمع و ارتباط آنها با همديگر را ممنوع کرده است. اين البته کاملاً غير قانونی است و حتماً وکليل اين دانشجو ها حساب دانشگاه را خواهد رسيد اما واقعاً وقاحت تا چه حدی!!اگر وقت اش را دارید از آنها حمايت کنيد. به رئيس دانشگاه تورونتو زنگ/ایمیل بزنيد و از او بخواهيد که به اين پيگرد قانونی پايان دهد. من عين درخواست اين دانشجو ها را اينجا می گذارم که اگر حوصله داشتيد کمک کنيد:

Send letters of condemnation to the President of the University of Toronto, David Naylor, at david.naylor@utoronto.ca (please CC all emails to fightfees@gmail.com) or phone David Naylor at 416-978-2121
with an emphasis the following:

(i) Drop all charges against UofT student, staff and alumni
(ii) Remove all bail restrictions and conditions for all 14 accused
(iii) End the policing of dissent and protest on campus. In the wake of the March 20 sit-in, 12 students are also being investigated under the Code of Student Conduct and student organizers have faced intimidation and surveillance from the campus police. More recently the University has pressed charges against 14 students and organizers

WHAT: Allies for Just Education - Community Support Meeting

Over the past several weeks, a wide coalition of students, alumni and workers at University of Toronto have come together to protest and organize against proposed fee hikes and to demand accessible education. This coalition has organized public meetings, a sit-in and
demonstrations which have received wide community support. Students have also conducted extensive research on the effects of fees and the fiscal policies of the university administration (see www.fightfees.ca).

Due to a peaceful sit-in, organized to protest against tuition fees on March 20, students are being subjected to an intense campaign of intimidation by the UofT administration and Toronto Police. Students have been followed by campus police, both on and off campus, as well as being monitored and photographed during meetings. UofT has pressed charges against 14 students and organizers, who have now had to turn themselves over to Toronto Police. They have been released on strict bail conditions, which ban them from associating with one another outside of courts and classes, as well as being barred from protesting anywhere on UofT property. In addition, several UofT students, staff and alumni have been completely banned from UofT property. One organizer, Oriel Varga, is currently being held in custody overnight.
Additionally, UofT is investigating 12 students under the Code of Student Conduct. This crusade of intimidation comes at a time when the administration is publically lobbying for the deregulation of fees, and is thus undertaken to prevent students from continuing to
organize around university fees.

WHAT YOU CAN DO TO SHOW SUPPORT:

We are calling on all community allies and support groups to show their solidarity with the 14 accused in any way they can. Community members are expressing their outrage at the growing cost of education, and at the use of intimidation and force against students who organize
for accessible education at the University of Toronto.

It is critical for the university community and supporters across the country to publicly condemn and reverse attacks on students' right to organize.
