The Iranian Association at the University of Toronto (IAUT) is proud to present "A Conversation with Farzaneh Kaboli" on July 26, 2008. In this event, Ms. Kaboli will talk about the situation of dance in Iran and her experiences in choreographing, directing, as well as performing dance in Iran.
Farzaneh Kaboli is the most recognized Iranian female dance artist, and her name has appeared in books such as, 'Salar Zanan-e Iran' and 'Avvalin Zanan' as the pioneering Iranian woman in the field of dance. Prior to the Islamic Revolution of 1979, she performed widely as a soloist with the National Dance Company both within Iran and internationally at many prestigious venues. After the revolution, she continued her career by acting in theatre and cinema. Today she continues teaching dance privately, as well as instructing movement classes for university students of theatre.
This event is a great privilege for IAUT and also a great opportunity for those interested, to engage in a conversation about art and dance in Iran with this renowned artist.
